NO.        TESTS        SPECIFICATIONS 01        Characters        Beads, granules, powder or after transformation, translucent sheets of varying thickness or containers, practically insoluble in water, soluble in hot aromatic hydrocarbons, practically insoluble in ethanol, in hexane and in methanol. It softens at temperatures above 650 C. The relative density of the material is 0.910 to 0.937. 02        Identification        A.        The IR spectrum obtained is identical to that obtained with the material selected for the type sample.                 B.        No spot appears in the chromatogram obtained with the test solution. 03        Appearance of solution        Solution S1 is clear and colourless. 04        Acidity or alkalinity        NMT 1.5ml of 0.01M NaOH is required to change the colour of the indicator to blue.                 NMT 1.5ml of 0.01M HCI is required to reach the beginning of the colour change of the indicator from yellow to orange. 05        Absorbance        The absorbance of solution S1 is not greater than 0.20 at wavelengths from 220 nm to 340nm. 06        Reducing substances        The difference between the titration volumes is not greater than 0.5ml. 07        Substances solution in hexane        The mass of the residue obtained is within 10% of the residue obtained with the type sample and does not exceed 5%. 08        Additives        No spot appears in the chromatogram obtained with the test solution. 09        Extractable heavy metals        NMT 2.5 ppm 10        Sulphated ash        NMT 0.2% w/w 11        Microbial Limit        NMT 30 cfu /120g 12        Bacterial endotoxins        NMT 0.25 IU/ml
